Las Vegas: Go Small!
Las Vegas is known for its over-the-top vibe and bigger-than-life attractions. But, there is a smaller side to Vegas that often goes unnoticed. Try these recommendations for a “smaller is better” approach to Las Vegas the next time you visit. You just might find that good things do come in small packages.
Hotel:
Platinum Hotel and Spa
I highly recommend the Platinum Hotel for its small size, off-strip location, spacious all-suite rooms, friendly staff, non-gaming atmosphere, and upscale ambiance. The roof-top pool and room amenities keep me coming back.

Casino:
Ellis Island Casino and Brewery
Check out the tiny Ellis Island Casino (just around the corner from the Platinum Hotel), a favorite of the Las Vegas locals for their dinner specials and karaoke nights. The Casino is a definite throw-back to the early years of Vegas before the mega-casinos came to town.

Museum:
National Atomic Testing Museum
The National Atomic Testing Museum is focused on nuclear history and atomic testing, both a part of Nevada’s history. To see Las Vegas in a new light, far different than the flashy neon signs of the Strip, visit this museum for an unexpected introduction to the area.
